I have drains below the road surface and above the connection exit level. Don't I have to do anything? The courtyard/basement where there are drains feeds directly into the sewer which runs at a lower level, is this correct?

Drains from sanitary appliances or drains located below street level cannot be led by gravity to the internal sewerage network. For these drains (single drain elements known as drain outlets) located below road level it is necessary to submit a specific application for authorization to use them, with a legal stamp on a specific form present in the Office forms visible and downloadable from the institutional website.

If these discharges derive from sanitary appliances (non-rainwater) located above the flow level of the connection pipe, non-return valves can be used on them.

If these discharges are of meteoric origin or derive from outlets located below the flow level of the connection pipe, they must be conveyed into special sealed tanks for each individual type (network) placed possibly outside the building and in double chamber equipped with a lifting system with sufficient head to overcome the difference in height between the bottom of the tank and the road surface. (the delivery pipe must be brought up to above the road level and then connected to the network which flows by gravity. In cases where this is not possible, a perfectly hydraulically sealed aerating/calming well must be inserted).
