“Home for workers” project

The project “Home for workers” constitutes a program for the alternative valorisation of the assets intended for public housing services, with the aim of achieving zero vacancies in publicly owned homes and, at the same time, offering housing solutions for rent at controlled rent to workers with economic capacity who it does not allow you to pay a rent on the free market or to access the public housing service.

The project starts from an initial stock of 316 vacant apartments owned by the municipality, to be renovated, in mixed condominiums located in various municipalities and located mainly in the Niguarda, Barona and Chiesa Rossa districts.

These accommodations have been approximately divided into 10 lots, of which 9 lots, put up for tender, are intended for public and private bodies of a social nature for sub-letting to workers involved in the project.

The Municipality will rent out these accommodations - for a maximum of 12 years - at an agreed rent to the bodies selected through a public tender procedure following the presentation of a corporate welfare project proposal which, in turn, will sublease the housing units to their own reference workers, with ISEE of the family unit not exceeding €26.000, selected on the basis of the criteria established with City Council Resolution no. 280 of 10/03/2023.
The following conditions may constitute preferential criteria for the assignment, in the presence of the requirements established by the aforementioned Resolution:

  • applicant under 35 years of age;
  • presence of dependent minor children;
  • presence of certified disability in at least one member of the family unit.
