Gallaratese neighborhood project

The new neighborhood - part of the International Living Competition in Milan with the areas of via Civitavecchia, via Senigallia and via Ovada - is located within a long strip of open spaces that have long been unused, in the area between via Gallarate and via Appennini. The settlement is spread over an area of approximately 33.800 m184. and is organized into four new residential buildings that accommodate residences and services for the neighborhood. The buildings, arranged to create a large park shared with the existing buildings in Via Appennini, house a total of 503 accommodations of various sizes which can accommodate up to XNUMX people.

Among the social rent rentals, accommodation is reserved for some specific categories: elderly people alone and/or in couples; single people with minors; newly formed families.

Some categories, such as single and foreign mothers with dependent minors and unaccompanied minors who, having become adults, leave community or light community programs, are included in specific housing projects upon notification by the Central Directorate for Family, School and Social Policies.

Given the positioning of the new properties along a busy road, protection works have been carried out for the park and the residences, which still allow easy crossings between the road and the park at various points. The accesses to the underground car parks for the residence are located along Via Appennini.

The new public park, of approximately 28.000 m30. defines the limit of the Gallaratese neighborhood towards Via Gallarate, creating a protected space, animated by the presence of commercial spaces and new services to the neighborhood, with particular attention to the typology of the context. In this context, to increase and diversify the offer of services, as well as increasing the overall quality level of the neighbourhood, the following have been created: a micro-nursery with approximately 1 places for children aged 3 to XNUMX; a day center for the elderly.

The park, with a lawn of approximately 12.700 mXNUMX. trees and areas intended for children with special rubber flooring, develops around four squares, each of which is characterized by different functions in terms of vocation, use and materials. In fact, technical solutions, equipment and construction methods have been adopted aimed at achieving maximum energy savings and reducing maintenance costs. The buildings are connected to district heating.

“The works have been completed and the accommodation has been assigned."
