The project - part of the Abitare a Milano 2 International Competition with the areas of via Cogne and via del Ricordi - involved the construction of a neighborhood along via Appennini. The residential area is surrounded by a park and a series of green islands located at a height higher than street level. Eight buildings were built, for a total of 196 apartments of different types, of which four were nine-storey and the remaining four-storey, all arranged as a bridge over the pedestrian paths. In this way the islands of greenery joined together, creating open courtyards. The accommodation and services overlook the interior of the island.

The design of the green areas gives continuity to the park, crossed by pedestrian paths with dunes, trees, shrubs and equipped greenery. One of the green islands houses a nursery, with a capacity of around 40 places, for which a green space of at least 200 mXNUMX has been reserved. Furthermore, on each island there are spaces dedicated to other service activities such as headquarters for neighborhood associations. The new neighborhood functions as a relationship element between the residences of the Gallaratese neighborhood, helping to define spaces open to the public.
