Cascina Monastero
Some parts of the Monastery, remodeled several times and becoming a farmhouse at the end of the 1700s, still retain the architectural characteristics of the Lombard fifteenth century.
Its primitive nucleus is to be found in the fifteenth-century monastery that Balzarino da Posterla, son-in-law of Matteo Visconti, had built and then donated to the Olivetan monks. The location of Baggio was chosen as it was close to Milan and adequately protected also by the nearby castle of Cusago.
Over time, the monastery saw both its fortune and its size increase, as it was progressively surrounded by cottages and farmers' homes.
