Environment Forum 2022
From 29 September to 7 October 2022 the Environment and Green Department of the Municipality of Milan organized the first Environment Forum: a cultural and scientific laboratory dedicated to discussions on the ecological transition, the fight against climate change, care for the landscape and urban greenery, including the protection of water resources, soil and air quality.
The rich program was aimed at an audience of architects, engineers, agronomists, landscape architects, doctors, journalists and anyone sensitive to environmental issues. The target? Give innovative answers to complex questions.
Below you will find, conference by conference, programs, materials shared by experts and live recordings.
Presentation of the Forum and Green Week program organized by the Environment and Green Department, including evocative videos, introduction by experts and greetings from Mayor Giuseppe Sala.
A moment of dialogue on the quality of the air in the Po Valley and in the City of Milan: from historical trends to the role of emission sources, from the health impact to the external costs linked to it, considering the link with climate change, the new challenges and intervention scenarios.
Climate-change, Natural Based Solution, Ecosystem Services, Green Plan. adaptation strategies for the City: challenges, opportunities, models and future projects of Natural Based Solutions. The experts talk about it.
A conference on increasingly green and intelligent cities: between green social housing projects, energy and environmental advantages of green infrastructures, protocols, case studies and new proposals.
The cities of the Italian network "EU Mission 100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities" discuss the areas of intervention to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, while private operators and the world of research discuss the opportunities of decarbonisation.
A workshop to promote the creation of a national network of resilient cities in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
A conference on the most effective solutions to make cities green and healthy with everyone's help.
The sustainability criteria for events and their application: the administration compares itself with the protagonists of the sector.
Molossian concerns: criteria for recognizing the dangerousness of the dog and conditions in kennel facilities, but also laws and proposals for intervention: for a more aware relationship between man and dog.
Wild animals are gradually increasing in the city. This forces us to reflect: is the urban environment only for humans, or is coexistence with wild species possible? In the city, there is diversity of thought especially when living together becomes annoying or impatient. At the conference we talk about nutrias, crows and turtles, the difficulties and successes of the Regulation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals of the Municipality of Milan. Specialists who work to protect nature in the city discuss how to plan the protection of biodiversity in Milan.
