Welfare. The Municipality asks the Government to refinance activities to combat serious marginalization

Milan, January 22 2022 - The Municipality of Milan has joined, with a resolution approved by the Council, the refinancing procedure promoted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies for the continuation of activities to combat serious marginalization.

With a provision dated 14 August 2020, the Ministry communicated its intention to attribute new resources to the beneficiary local authorities, based on the progress of the activities already financed, to allow the continuation of the projects and the strengthening of the interventions. The new financing will be commensurate with the capacity demonstrated by the institutions in spending and reporting the previous funds.

With the Council's provision, the Municipality has agreed to the request for new financing which, if granted, will allow the further development of existing activities. In particular, the monitoring service carried out by the mobile units that patrol the city every night offering support to those living on the streets, the network of nine day centers that offer services and activities for the homeless, the residential system of reception, the ResidenziaMi service for fictitious registered residence for the homeless and the 24-hour reporting service on 0288447646.

“Milan - declares the councilor for Welfare and Health Lamberto Bertolé - has built in recent years a structured system to combat serious marginalization which we want to continue to strengthen, with increasingly high-quality services. To do this, we are counting on the resources that have been guaranteed to us in recent years, and that the Administration has demonstrated its ability to spend profitably, to be reconfirmed. In the meantime, the Municipality has continued to guarantee, even during this harsh winter, the services of the Cold Plan, increasing the places in the reception facilities to accommodate all those who have requested it".
