Via Antonini. Further contributions of 126 thousand euros for the inhabitants of the houses damaged in the fire

Milan 26 November 2021 – The municipal administration has approved a further allocation of funds to meet the needs of the inhabitants of the Torre dei Moro in via Antonini, whose apartments were made unusable by the fire that broke out on 29 August.

Following a discussion with the interested parties and a more precise identification of the needs, the Council approved a resolution which integrates the allocation of 400.000 euros already decided on 17 September with a further 126.000 euros. The new extraordinary contributions, intended for families who lived at number 32 in via Antonini and whose apartments have been declared unusable, will be used to provide one-off financial support up to a maximum of 1.500 euros per family for expenses incurred as a result of the fire and to meet personal, housing, healthcare, educational or professional needs. The requests, accompanied by supporting documentation, can be integrated until 31 March 2022 with any additional expenses incurred by that date.

The contributions will be added to those already foreseen by the resolution of last September: up to 1.500 euros to support the costs of accommodation in hotels or other temporary structures for the first month and another 500 euros useful for the purchase of personal effects and supplies essential items that were lost in the fire or in any case currently unrecoverable. The disbursement of these first contributions will take place within the next three weeks, at the end of the necessary process.

The monthly contribution is also confirmed (up to 5 months) for the period following the first 30 days, variable depending on the composition of the family unit (500 euros per month for families of one or two members, 700 if there are three or four members , 900 if there are more). This second contribution will be recognized to resident owners, for whom the house in via Antonini 32 represents the first home or the only possible home in the metropolitan city area, and will be subject to a proportionality criterion based on the latest declared incomes (you will have 100% with incomes up to 40 thousand euros, a threshold beyond which it will also be remodulated depending on the number of family members, up to the maximum limit of 96 thousand euros).

Finally, the Municipality took action, from the first days after the fire, to find longer-term housing solutions for tenants whose apartment is no longer usable and twenty families have already identified accommodation suited to their needs among the accommodations proposed. The solution preferred by most of these families is that of the apartments in via Antegnati which are located in the southern area of the city, near via Antonini.
