Milan, September 17 2021 – The municipal administration decides to grant extraordinary contributions of up to 400 thousand euros in favor of the inhabitants of the Torre Moro in via Antonini and some neighboring buildings (numbers 20, 32 and 36), whose apartments have been damaged or made temporarily unusable by the The fire broke out last August 29th.

An initial contribution, necessary to support the first emergency phase, is recognized to all without distinction: it is an amount of up to 1.500 euros to support the costs of hotel accommodation or other temporary structures for the first month, and another 500 useful euros for the purchase of personal effects and basic necessities lost in the fire or in any case currently unrecoverable.

A monthly contribution will also be given (up to 5 months) for the following period, variable depending on the composition of the family unit (500 euros per month for families of one or two members, 700 if there are three or four members, 900 in the case are more). This second contribution will be recognized to resident owners, for whom the now unusable home represents the first home or the only possible home in the metropolitan city, and will be subject to a proportionality criterion based on the latest declared incomes (100 % with incomes up to 40 thousand euros, a threshold beyond which it will also be remodulated depending on the number of family members, up to the maximum limit of 96 thousand euros).

An extension until December 31st was also granted for the collection of contribution fees relating to nursery schools/spring sections and more generally for contribution fees relating to services provided directly and not by the Municipality of Milan. The sending of notices relating to the waste tax for the current year has also been suspended: the amount will be sent by 31 December, also to allow the correct determination of the amount due, given the loss of usability of the apartments. The Administration, in collaboration with Milano Ristorazione, is evaluating the possibility of further interventions with respect to school lunch fees.

These measures were illustrated to some representatives of the condominiums in via Antonini during a meeting with the Administration held yesterday afternoon in Palazzo Marino. Another topic addressed at the table was medium-term accommodation; the Municipality illustrated the characteristics of the 400 accommodations - of which 40 available immediately, a hundred available from November and others ready at the beginning of 2022 - made available by the operators Associazione Fraternità, Immobiliare San Carlo Trieste, Fondo Ca' Granda, Investire srl , Redo sgr and Delta Ecopolis.

In particular, the proposals concern apartments mainly with subsidized or agreed rent, some with access limits linked to income and others open to all, which are located in Piazza Frattini, via Rutilia, via Anfossi, via Legioni Romane, via Sciesa, Cascina Merlata , via Rogoredo, via Giorgi, via Cefalonia and via Antegnati. The list of available accommodation, of various sizes, has been provided to the tenants, who will be able to make arrangements directly with the operators to agree on the inspections and freely evaluate whether and which solution to choose.
