Trees, pedestrian paths and lighting. Maran: “Intervention expected in the neighborhood and part of the forestation plan for a more sustainable city”

Milan, September 19 2019 – Work began this morning for the construction of the 3.300 square meter linear park in Viale Crispi designed by the Herzog&De Meuron studio and SD Partners.

In recent months, the reclamation interventions carried out under the direction of MM had brought to light some remains of the XNUMXth century Spanish walls, which had required in-depth investigations by the Superintendence and led to the relative slippage in the construction site schedule. Having completed the reclamation and obtained the tests and certifications from ARPA and the metropolitan city, the works for the construction of the boulevard are now starting under the direction of Coima SGR.

“A highly anticipated intervention is starting for the neighborhood and is important for the whole city, because every park, every planted area, every new tree represents a piece of the great forestation plan we are working on to make Milan greener and more sustainable", declares the councilor for urban planning, greenery and agriculture Pierfrancesco Maran.

The park, foreseen in the Integrated Intervention Plan viali Pasubio-Montello-Crispi, Bastioni di Porta Volta, piazzale Baiamonti, will develop as a large boulevard and become a new place for socialization and meeting for the neighbourhood. In addition to the planting of 30 trees including magnolias, pirus calleryana, prunus, koelreuteria paniculata, platanus vallis clausa, some flowerbeds will be arranged to protect the plane trees already present along viale Crispi. Furthermore, the pedestrian and cycle paths will be expanded and a lighting system for the new spaces will be guaranteed. The intervention will be completed by summer 2020.
