Milan, May 7 2022 – Happy ending for a corner of Milan that is once again flourishing after being the object of a hateful theft by the "usual unknowns". This morning, the gardeners of the Municipality of Milan replanted a new photinia in the flowerbed of via Massena at the corner of via Filarete in place of the one removed in recent days.

The stolen plant had been buried by an inhabitant of the area who, fourteen months ago, had independently decided to take care of that bare and isolated planter, planting a small plant to make it a greener and more pleasant spot for himself, the inhabitants of the area and all the passers-by.

A small gesture of daily attention made not only to cultivate beauty in a somewhat gray corner but above all to raise awareness among residents and all citizens to take care of the place where they live, as told in a video made months ago ago in which the planting of the seedling was documented.

The replanting carried out by the Administration aims to be a sign of closeness, respect, attention and also gratitude towards all those spontaneous actions carried out by citizens who, with their gestures and small interventions, contribute to making Milan and its neighborhoods more beautiful.

Thanks also go to the journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli who, thanks to her social pages, allowed the Administration to become aware of this story of unusual attention to its neighborhood to which today a beautiful ending could be added.

On the flowerbed which today has found its photinia, the Administration has placed a sign of thanks to the anonymous and kind citizen who planted and cared for this small corner of the city, as well as an invitation to the "usual unknowns" not to repeat the unpleasant gesture.

Anyone who wants to find out how to take care of a green corner of the city and contribute to its maintenance can consult the pages of the Municipality of Milan.
