Milan, March 20 2022 – Great success for "Custodiscimi", the initiative of the Municipality of Milan jointly with ERSAF and Legambiente Lombardia through which citizens can become foster carers and "guardians" at their homes of what will be part of the future public green heritage of the city .

The over 1.500 seedlings given to the Milanese for the next six months sold out in one day, at the end of which they will be planted in public areas of the city, areas that will be identified by the municipalities in collaboration with the towns and citizens.

The future trees were delivered this morning by Environment and Green Councilor Elena Grandi with Stefano Boeri, President of the Forestami Scientific Committee.

"The success of Custodiscimi with a full house in less than half a day – explains councilor Grandi – demonstrates once again how people's attitude towards public green spaces has changed, today increasingly understood as a great collective asset indispensable to well-being of the individual and the community. A success that confirms how strong the desire is to contribute to the good of our city, taking care of plants, vegetable gardens and shared gardens to build an increasingly green and livable Milan together."

Today's 1.500 seedlings (which will become the trees of tomorrow) were delivered to various spaces set up in the nine municipalities in order to involve all the neighbourhoods. Another 1.000 plants were distributed at various collection points in the municipalities of the metropolitan city.
