Initiative to raise awareness among Milanese people to take care of greenery, starting from domestic spaces and small daily gestures

Milan, 30 April 2022 - Spread the culture of respect and care for greenery while contributing to making our city more beautiful and sustainable, starting from domestic balconies and windowsills. This is the intent of "Balconiamo", the initiative created by Cia Agricoltori Milano in collaboration with MM Spa and sponsored by the Municipality of Milan which aims to promote the care and knowledge of seasonal and perennial plants, their beauty , the ability to increase biodiversity. 

This morning, at the hidden farmhouse of Parco Sempione, the first kits consisting of ornamental, aromatic and fruit plants as well as everything necessary were distributed to citizens and representatives of associations, bodies, academic institutions and charitable foundations. for amateur gardening. 

During the morning, the people present were able to hear, from the voices of experts, agronomists and greenery professionals, many useful tips on how to take care of their domestic plants starting from the choice of the most suitable species to arrive at the correct exposure to the sun or to the amount of water they need. Fundamental notions for ensuring a long life for plants, especially in urban contexts. 

'Balconiamo' is part of the Cultivate Benessere project in the framework of which Cia has already created two initiatives: "Arms lent to agriculture", in collaboration with the Parini Classical High School dedicated to young people, and the "Guida to the trees of Milan", which aims to raise awareness of Milan's rich arboreal heritage.
