Green. Art, culture and meetings to discover the Aurelia Josz Botanical Museum

From 3 May to 29 June seven extraordinary openings to disseminate the importance of the biodiversity of the flora, the urban landscape and the Po Valley 

Milan, 29 April 2022 - Guided tours, fun activities, artistic installations with students from the Brera Academy, art exhibitions, days dedicated to gardening as well as meetings on the plant and animal world for a journey to discover urban biodiversity. These are some of the opportunities proposed by the Aurelia Josz Botanical Museum in the seven days of extraordinary openings from 3 May to 29 June to involve and raise awareness of citizens to respect greenery and nature and spread a new culture to protect the environment.

The program proposed by the museum this spring is rich. 

It starts Tuesday May 3, from 17pm to 30pm. At 20pm with Terra 30, a free outdoor walk among the site-specific artistic installations on the theme of the element earth and soil created by the students of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. At 17.30pm, Terra 1.0, Art and Science will probe and interpret this mysterious element with in-depth meetings with artists, experts and technicians. Those present will also have the opportunity to visit the exhibition "Patriarchs of Nature - Extraordinary Trees of Italy" conceived and curated by the Bracco Foundation and the Association of Patriarchs of Nature in Italy, dedicated to thousand-year-old trees, astonishing natural works of art. 

Friday May 13th, from 18pm to 00pm, it will be the turn of "From the sill to the city", a theoretical and practical gardening and horticultural course, which suggests a conscious approach in which cultivation is confronted with environmental issues, useful ideas for reflection and conscious practices starting from the care of one's windowsill, balcony, terrace up to the urban area. 

Saturday May 21th, from 15pm to 00pm, the protagonists will be herbs and perfumes. 

Wednesday May 25, from 14pm to 30pm, on the occasion of the Week of Rights for Children and Adolescents, "Playing with a seed ... imagining the future" will be held, a day dedicated to families with boys and girls aged 16 to 30 years. 

Wednesday June 8, from 15:00 pm to 17:00 pm, the second meeting of "From the windowsill to the city" will be held.
Saturday June 18th, from 15 pm to 00 pm, Terra 19 will take place with various activities for adults and children. 
Finally Wednesday 29nd June the third meeting of "From the windowsill to the city" will take place, the theoretical and practical gardening and horticultural course which will resume in September.

The Aurelia Josz Botanical Museum is an observatory, an evolving laboratory that produces culture and stimuli, dedicated to the discovery of plant life, naturalistic education and respect for public green spaces. The protagonists are the spontaneous ecosystems of the Po Valley, their biodiversity, their interaction with the urban environment, as well as agriculture, both global and Lombard, and its history which speaks of the relationships between humans, the plant world and the territory. 
 The museum covers an area of ​​24 thousand square meters and is located in via Rodolfo Margaria 1. It is easily accessible by public transport (trams 4 and 5, buses 51 and 83, MM3 Dergano and Maciachini).
