Green. Approved guidelines for the management and maintenance of greenery for one year
The objective is to ensure the continuity of services in view of the assignment to MM spa
Milan, February 7 2021 – Guarantee the continuity of the management and maintenance services of the public green areas in view of the assignment of the service to MM Spa. With this objective the Council has approved the guidelines relating to the public tender procedure for the maintenance service of the city green areas for the duration of one year.
In fact, the extension of the contract with the current contractor, Miami scarl, expires in April. To allow careful work to verify the feasibility conditions for a transfer of management to MM, which will in any case have to present a technical-economic proposal by February of this year, and to ensure the continuity of the greenery care service, it is it therefore intends to continue with management on the current model until 31 March 2022.
The global maintenance contract for the city's public green areas will be unique for the entire city territory, going beyond the logic of division into operational lots, while the Municipalities will maintain control of the service and decisions regarding intervention priorities. The activities envisaged within the contract include, in addition to the ordinary maintenance service, a quota of extraordinary maintenance for the execution of works necessary to redevelop existing green areas or to create new play areas, dog areas, areas for sports practice, paths, irrigation systems, vegetable gardens, gates.
The economic amount of the service for the period from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 was estimated at 30.220.000 euros.
