Milan, 19 April 2021 - It's open from today the call for the submission of candidatures for the appointment of the members of the Green, Soil and Trees Guarantor of the Municipality of Milan.

The Guarantor will be an independent collegial body made up of three members, appointed by the Mayor from among competent people in the field of environmental sciences and urban planning. Among its tasks: supervising the correct application of the regulations regarding land consumption and greenery protection and implementing the procedures for the expansion of the Southern Agricultural Park for a surface area of ​​over 1,5 million m², contribute to ensuring the protection of land consumption and the increase of existing greenery and trees, promote listening and information actions towards citizens, dialogue with municipal offices on compensation initiatives linked to land consumption, verify monitoring in collaboration with the One Stop Shop Area for construction and the municipalities of the interventions to be carried out on private land which involve modification of the use of the land and of the trees.

The members of the collegial body will carry out their honorary duties for 5 years and, in order to guarantee their independence and impartiality, they will be based at the Presidency of the Municipal Council.
