Milan, September 12 2020 – On the one hand the recovery and regeneration of rural properties in a poor state of maintenance, on the other the restoration of the historic San Carlo church and regeneration interventions for the entire neighborhood.
This is what the Integrated Intervention Plan for via Macconago 24-36, approved by the municipal administration, provides. The intervention, led by the Del Vecchio Foundation which has owned the area since 2018, involves the reconstruction of the courtyard layout typical of the Lombard farmhouse and the conservation of the historical and architectural identity of the existing buildings. The project is spread over a total surface area of approximately 26.302 square meters and based on the building index set in the current urban planning instruments (0,65 m12.113/m9.555) it envisages the creation of residential functions for 2.558 square meters of surface area (GFA - of of which 676 square meters for free construction and XNUMX for subsidized construction), and XNUMX square meters of GFA for compatible functions.

The Plan envisages urbanization works for around one million, in particular for the widening of Via Macconago, with the creation of pavements on both sides, around 30 parking spaces, the creation of a new tree-lined square for public use and a new green area of approximately 1600 square meters.
The implementing entity also undertakes to sell, design at its own expense and to carry out the restoration works of the former Church of San Carlo in Macconago, providing for its refunctionalization for the functions that will be indicated by the Municipal Administration and the competent Municipality , to whom the property will be delivered upon completion of the works. A small tree-lined square will also be created in front of the former church itself.

In order to be able to proceed with the restoration and refunctionalization of the church, the Archdiocese of Milan has already agreed to its reduction to non-indecorous profane use. The Plan has already had the green light from the Landscape Commission and Municipality 5.
