The 800th century farmhouse complex is made up of several buildings, one of which is licensed as a warehouse to Italia Nostra as part of the activities of the Cassinis Park, reborn in recent years thanks to the Municipality's choice to entrust its management to the Association. The recovery and refunctionalization of the second portion of Cascina Carpana will make a further contribution to the valorization plan of the Porto di Mare area.

The proposal must provide for public functions such as social services for the elderly, people with disabilities, minors, hospitalization and care facilities, the establishment of neighborhood shops and local services, community, multi-purpose or sports centres, outpatient facilities, laboratories and spaces for innovation. It will not be possible to establish discos and nightclubs, sex shop activities, money transfer, phone centers, games rooms, massage centers, betting agencies.

All individual economic operators or those associated in temporary groupings of companies and entities belonging to the third sector, foundations with social and educational purposes, environmental associations, agricultural companies, non-profit entities can participate in the tender.

In Milan there are approximately 60 municipally owned farmhouses that have come into the disposal of the Administration following bequests, donations and purchase and sale transactions. In recent years, many structures have been recovered and kept alive by third sector entities and citizens' associations who have found available and flexible spaces within them to host different types of social and cultural activities and services for citizens.
