After the approval of the Plan, technical tables will be created on the main objectives. Maran: “Participation and discussion with the city are fundamental to outline the path towards Milan 2030”

Milan, July 20 2019 – Over 1.600 observations were submitted in the available period (15 June/15 July) by citizens, associations, municipalities and stakeholders to the Territorial Government Plan adopted by the City Council on 5 March. Of these, approximately 1.100 were received via PEC, 120 were registered in paper form and approximately 380 were presented online, thanks to the new electronic compilation system introduced this year on the Geoportal of the Municipality of Milan.
The observations will now be subjected to examination by the Urban Planning offices for counter-deductions and will then be discussed by the City Council during the approval phase of the PGT this autumn.

“A fundamental phase of the journey towards Milan 2030 has come to an end – declares the councilor for Urban Planning Pierfrancesco Maran –. The participation and proposals of citizens have been a constant since the beginning of the drafting of the Plan proposal and represent an indispensable contribution to the definition of a shared vision of the city of tomorrow. We will therefore analyze all the observations received with the utmost attention before returning to the City Council. The open discussion with the city will also characterize the phases following the approval in the chamber: we will in fact ask for the support of associations and bodies to define the actions and design choices to be pursued to achieve the objectives indicated by the Plan".

"The online participation platform, at its debut - adds the councilor for Participation, Active Citizenship and Open Data Lorenzo Lipparini - made it possible to collect a number of observations three times higher than those delivered with the traditional paper form, net of the PECs which are usually used by professionals. I consider it an experience to be replicated on other occasions, reusing the tool for other participatory paths".

The Council approved an act of political direction for the subsequent establishment of Working Groups for the development of strategic themes of the PGT that require further development. There are four areas of work: the squares, with particular attention to Piazzale Loreto and the Corso Venezia – Via Padova Viale Monza system; Social Residential Housing; the interchange nodes, in particular that of Bovisa; the parks of the west. The tables, for the composition of which a tender will open in the coming weeks, will be made up of technicians, experts, associations and, free of charge, academics and experts of national and international fame with specific knowledge of the local Milanese reality, who will be selected according to transparent and impartial procedures and equal treatment. The activities of the Groups will take place approximately in the six months following the approval of the PGT expected in the autumn.
