Ukraine. From Saturday in via Sammartini the new hub for refugee orientation

Milan, September 30 2022 - The hub dedicated to the first contact and assistance of Ukrainian refugees arriving in the city to escape the war, until now housed in the spaces of via Mortirolo, will temporarily move, starting tomorrow, to via Sammartini 106.

Starting from November 1st there will then be the definitive transfer to via Sammartini 126, in the 336 m2 spaces made available to the municipal administration on free loan for use by Grandi Stazioni.

The new hub will be built, in agreement with the Prefecture and regional civil protection, next to the Sammartini Center which acts as a single access point for all services dedicated to the homeless. The space will be managed by the municipal civil protection with the support of Fondazione Progetto Arca.

The hub, operational since last March, has supported around 6.700 people - mainly women (over 3.500) and minors (over 2.100) - helping them to find a placement in the structures coordinated by the Prefecture (over 3.300 placements), providing information and ensuring an initial health screening.
