Tourism. The inauguration of the fortieth BIT will be held on Sunday 9 February

The Municipality of Milan is present at the trade fair at the International Industry Exchange with a stand featuring a reproduction of an ATM tram

Milan, February 8 2020 – Tomorrow, Sunday 9 February, at 11 am at Fieramilanocity, the municipal administration will be present with one of its representatives at the inauguration of the fortieth edition of BIT – International Tourism Exchange, the historic event organized by Fiera Milano which has been bringing to the capital since 1980 Lombardy tour operators and travelers from all over the world.

The Municipality of Milan will be present with its own stand in Pavilion 3 (B23-B29-C22-C28), 160 square meters dedicated to the city, its tourist-cultural offer and the major events that will take place in the city this year: World Routes 2020, which every year brings together airports, airlines and the main tourism authorities in the world with the aim of developing new air connections at a global level, and ILGTA, the annual international convention dedicated to LGBTQ+ tourism.

The Municipality's stand, based on the theme of sustainability and reuse, will be characterized by a hardback reproduction of an ATM tram which takes up the colors and lines of the legendary Trolleys, the cars present with 125 examples which still circulate today on the streets of Milan. Inside one of the symbols of the Milanese city in the world, an institutional video will be projected with images of Milan and the short film "The Superheroes of the Service", made by ATM by the boys of the CSC (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia) on the occasion of the presentation of the guide “Crossing all of Milan”, a book that highlights the relationship between the city, its places and public transport.
