From July 19th, lines 10, 12, 14, N25 will change the route

Milan, July 17 2021 – Extraordinary works for the modernization of the tram systems in via Procaccini and in piazzale Cimitero Monumentale begin on Monday 19 July, with the aim of improving travel comfort, minimizing the noise impact of the passage of vehicles and redeveloping the road surface.

These works, the planning of which will allow the circulation of private vehicles to be restored in the main routes for the start of schools, consist of the removal of tracks and the laying of new ones. They also include the replacement of the crushed stone base (ballast) with new reinforced concrete slabs laid on anti-vibration mats, also in order to avoid deterioration of the road surface. At the same time, the tram exchanges are also renewed with new radio frequency control devices and some sections of overhead line.

In particular, the works in via Procaccini involve the replacement of a tram branch with the related connecting curves; in Piazzale Cimitero Monumentale the interventions affect three branches, a tram intersection and all the connecting curves.

“The maintenance of existing tram and road networks is fundamental – declares Marco Granelli, Councilor for Mobility –. For this reason, our commitment and investments for modernization and efficiency are huge. We know that construction sites always represent an inconvenience, which is why we plan them taking into account the city's timing and work to ensure that the deadlines for the works are respected".

To allow for the works, lines 10, 12, 14, N25 will change routes and stops until October 3rd. For this reason, Atm has already prepared an information plan with announcements in the vehicles, news on the website, on the Atm Milano App and on the Twitter channel @atminforma. Support for passengers is also provided through the presence of customer assistants at stops.

The routes and lines modified from 19 July to 3 October:

TRAM 10 - In both directions the trams deviate between the stops in Piazzale Cimitero Monumentale and via Procaccini/via Lomazzo passing through Cenisio M5. They skip the stop via Procaccini/via Nono (Fabbrica del Vapore).

TRAM 12 AND 14 - In both directions the trams divert between the Cenisio M5 and Arena stops. They do not travel along Via Bramante, but pass through Piazzale Cimitero Monumentale, Via Ceresio and Viale Montello.

BUS N25 - In the direction of Cadorna the buses skip the stops in via Procaccini/Nono and p.za Gramsci. They pass through via Nono, Cenisio M5, p.za Diocleziano, via Losanna, via Piero della Francesca (together with lines 43 and 57) and via Procaccini.
