TPL. Via Procaccini, work has begun for the construction of two stops of tram 10

Milan, May 16 2019 - Work begins today in via Procaccini for the construction of two stops of tram line 10, which is scheduled to enter service in July.

The intervention involves several phases: today Unareti's work began on the electricity and gas networks which affect the part of the roadway corresponding to the side of the odd numbers, i.e. the stretch in front of the "Steam Factory" used for parking. At this stage, the method of execution of the works does not make it necessary to suspend tram operations.

The second phase will begin from May 27th until July 4th, which will involve the temporary suspension of tram passage. At the same time, the areas for the construction of the new docks will be set up on site. A mobile traffic light pole will also be positioned which will regulate the flow of vehicles exiting via Procaccini towards Piazza Cimitero Monumentale. During the same period of suspension of tram operations, the road crossings for the new traffic light system will be built, especially under the tramway superstructure.
During the works, tram line 10 will slightly divert the route along via Nono, via Cenisio and via Tartaglia towards piazza XXIV Maggio, via Messina, via Cenisio and via Nono in the direction of viale Lunigiana and will additionally make the Cenisio M5 stop. For any information it will be possible to consult the ATM website and app.

The pair of stops on the N25/N26 night line will be moved a few meters so as not to interfere with the construction site area.

Given the presence of three distinct but simultaneous interventions in the same area, the construction sites will be modulated to allow continuity of the road network although inevitable slowdowns are already expected.
