Milan, June 11 2021 – The park in Via Mac Mahon, near the house where "The novelist lent to comics and never returned" lived and dreamed of the thousand adventures of his characters, was named after Gianluigi Bonelli, the creator of Tex.

The naming was born from a proposal by the VMMD association (Vivi la Mac Mahon and surroundings) strongly supported by the Municipality, Municipality 8 and Giorgio Bonelli.

In addition to the plaque with the name of the creator of the most famous mounted Ranger in the world, a statue donated by Giorgio Bonelli and created by Maestro Jana Bartosova and Giovanni Ticci was placed in the park. The monument is composed of two parts: a bronze base, on whose surface some scenes from the world of Gianluigi Bonelli's characters are shown in bas-relief, and an upper part which represents a knight of clear western inspiration together with his faithful companion in a moment of reflection and pause.
