Milan, 20 April 2021 – From today the new platform that allows you to sign up for the 2021 taxi bonus to use the public car service with a discount of up to 50% of the fare is available on the Municipality of Milan website. The service will go live at the beginning of May with simplified access methods.

The system, entrusted to Telepass, simply requires the citizen benefiting from the service to be in possession of the health card or tax code number, and for taxis to have downloaded an app.

As foreseen by the ministerial decree, citizens resident in Milan with reduced physical mobility, with confirmed pathologies, even temporary, even accompanied, will be able to benefit from the 2021 taxi bonus; people suffering from confirmed pathologies and people subject to life-saving therapies. Furthermore, people belonging to families more exposed to the economic effects deriving from the epidemiological emergency can benefit from the bonus, for example where one of the members carries out work activities belonging to ATECO codes subject to limitations on containing the spread of the virus. Finally, all citizens in need, with an ISEE equal to or less than 28.000 euros and people who are unemployed or on redundancy pay.

The new taxi voucher builds on the positive experience acquired by the Administration with the provision of the 2020 taxi bonus which allowed over 40.000 taxi trips to be made at a subsidized price between 18 August and 15 January; at the moment it has an economic endowment of around 3 million euros and can be used, even on NCC vehicles (public rental car with driver), until December 2021, each voucher covers 50% of the cost of the single journey up to a maximum of 20 euros per trip.

To access the new taxi bonus, citizens must pre-register for the service through the platform available today at https://formshd4.comune.milano.it/pages/buoniviaggio/index.jsp, release their personal data and self-certify their belonging to the categories benefiting from the benefit. You will then receive an activation email and when you want to use the benefit you will just need to show your health card to the taxi driver. They will open the app already downloaded on their mobile phone, enter the user's tax code for verification and at the end of the journey enter the cost of the trip. The system will automatically calculate the amount borne by the citizen who will proceed with immediate payment while the remaining part will be credited directly to the taxi driver by the Administration.

"The taxi bonus is greatly appreciated by citizens - declares the councilor for Mobility Marco Granelli -, which is why we are convinced that with this simplified and extended access method it will be possible to broaden the number of citizens who will use it. The taxi bonus has a important function to facilitate the travel of those who have objective difficulties in using public transport or are in economic difficulty".
