Provision of a one-off contribution, gross of tax withholdings, to holders of public car licenses from the Municipality of Milan, as partial compensation for the taximeter maintenance fee paid in 2021

Milan, 29 December 2021 – The procedures reserved for Milanese taxi drivers are open to request the non-repayable contribution of 50 euros for the cost of ordinary maintenance of the taximeter relating to the year 2021.

To cover this expense, the Municipality of Milan has allocated a total of 250 thousand euros; All license holders of the Municipality will be able to apply by presenting an electronic invoice addressed to the holder.

"Milan taxi drivers – explains Arianna Censi, councilor for Mobility – have seen their activity reduced by 80% due to the restrictions due to the health emergency, which is why the municipal administration has decided to provide a one-off contribution as a partial refund of the taximeter maintenance fee paid in 2021".

The maximum rates of the annual maintenance fee for taximeters, mandatory by law and paid entirely by license holders, are paid to authorized workshops and can vary from an annual cost of 90 euros to a more complex two-year formula of 236 euros.

Requests must be submitted in telematic mode no later than March 31, 2022 and the one-off contribution will be paid by April 30, 2022.
