Councilor Cappello: "European non-repayable contributions to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises close to citizens"

Milan, July 3 2022 – The "City 15 minutes away" is one in which every citizen has the possibility of having what he needs within a short distance from home. It is in the first sentence of the announcement, "Mi15 - Spaces and services for a Milan in 15 minutes", that we capture the objective of the public notice just launched by the municipal administration to support entrepreneurial activities with social impact in all the neighborhoods of the city, with the exception of Municipality 1.

The tender is financed entirely by the European Union and makes available over 1,3 million euros of PON Metro funds to be distributed in the form of non-repayable contributions.

"Doing the shopping, repairing household objects, taking care of ourselves, having spaces dedicated to meeting and culture. These are all essential services for neighbourhoods, places that each of us wants to find within walking distance of home. This is what the our objective - explains the councilor for Economic Development Alessia Cappello - is to support micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurial activities to create spaces and services with a social impact that are currently completely missing or deserve to be expanded. To do this we will make contributions available to non-repayable fund, looking with particular interest at projects aimed at contexts and subjects with greater fragility".

Il gang, published on the website of the Municipality of Milan, will remain open for the submission of applications until 14pm on Friday 16 September.

Investment projects with a cost between 30.000 and 100.000 euros will be able to compete (the contribution will cover 80% of the expense).

The proposals must be useful (capable of generating positive impacts on the local community), long-lasting (capable of sustaining themselves even after the grant has been disbursed), accessible (in terms of prices, times and absence of architectural barriers).

They must concern the creation or strengthening of spaces, services, activities with social impact, currently absent or insufficient in the neighbourhood, acting on one or more local identity nuclei.

The tender is part of a 2,5 million euro program of interventions for the economic and social development of neighborhoods which includes two other initiatives, "The neighborhood school" and "Civic crowdfunding".

On Tuesday 19 July, at 19pm at BASE Milano, in via Bergognone 34, the tender will be presented during a public event dedicated to the actions of the Department of Economic Development to create a Milan in 15 minutes.
