From 31 August to 4 September an extraordinary edition of Expo for sport

Milan, July 29 2020 – In the program of the Milan Summer school, Expo for sport, the sports promotion event born in 2015 within EXPO, offers a completely free all-sports summer center in the heart of Milan.

The initiative, which will be held from 31 August to 4 September, will be structured in small groups of age groups between 6 and 14 years and will take place in a widespread manner within the Sempione Park, with six different clusters which will guarantee distancing between participants.  
The objective is to provide concrete help to Milanese families, who in these months of emergency have experienced moments of great criticality, a way to give back to the city of Milan the great value that it has given to the event over the years, starting precisely from the families and younger.

“This summer edition of Expo for sport within the Summer school network, in the splendid setting of Sempione Park and totally free, represents a precious opportunity for many Milanese children to get closer to sport, practice it together in the open air and experiment with new disciplines – declare Laura Galimberti, Councilor for Education and Roberta Guaineri, Councilor for Sport –. Sports practice and its values ​​of respect and collaboration are a fundamental element for every community, indispensable for the physical well-being and conscious growth of younger citizens. Once again, public-private collaboration - now a distinctive Milanese trait - produces virtuous results by offering boys and girls the chance to enjoy a truly special summer centre".

Expo for sport is an event supported by the School Office for Lombardy AT Milan, the Lombardy Region, CONI Lombardy - Milan delegation and the School of Motor Sciences of the University of Milan, sponsored by Lidl Italia and organized by DNA Sport consulting in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.

Once the summer center is over, the event will reopen its doors to the public the following weekend in its traditional guise. Also in this case, various measures will be adopted to guarantee the event can be held in complete safety, starting with the online registration procedure which will guarantee a rotation of participants.
