Open roads. A real-time map to monitor land concessions

Nearly 1.400 to date. Maran-Granelli-Lipparini: "Let's see how the way of living the city is changing in all the neighborhoods"

Milan, July 1 2020 – The map of the shops, mainly bars and restaurants, which have requested and obtained the concession for the occupation of public land according to the new simplified procedures which provide for the free COSAP tariff until 31 October, is online from today on the Municipality's geoportal. By clicking on each star it is possible to trace the exact address of the commercial activity, the square meters granted and the owner who benefits from it.

"By looking at the map which will be updated daily as a monitoring and reporting tool, and by walking around the city we can understand how the way of living the city is changing - declare the councilors Pierfrancesco Maran (Urban Planning), Marco Granelli (Mobility) and Lorenzo Lipparini (Open Data) -. Tables and chairs are animating streets and squares in every neighborhood, offering Milanese people new opportunities for socializing in safety and guaranteeing traders precious spaces for their business".

The new occupations, almost 1.400 for over 45.000 square metres, concern squares, pavements, roadways and green areas. To allow the expansion of spaces for the benefit of traders who can thus recover precious spaces for their business, the Administration has already established 9 temporary pedestrian areas, 40 streets, 30 and 7 residential streets with a speed of 15 km/h.

On the same map, with the black dot, the positions of the Street Artists are shown.
