Tajani: “We believe in the creativity of start-ups, providing them with useful and innovative solutions to respond effectively to the changed post-Covid needs”

Milan, July 25 2020 - Milan invests in the ideas and creativity of start-ups to accelerate the economic, social and cultural restart of the city. The guidelines have been approved by the Council to support innovative companies capable of offering a concrete contribution to the relaunch of Milan after the Covid-1 emergency with 19 million euros. The areas of intervention can range from health services, to digital services for citizens and businesses, passing through logistics systems for the distribution of goods, as indicated in the contents of the "Milan 2020" document on adaptation strategies for the city's restart.

“We have always believed in the vitality of start-ups – declares the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani – and in their ability to propose useful and innovative solutions to respond effectively to the changing needs of citizens and businesses after the Covid emergency. This new initiative, born thanks to the Mutual Aid Fund wanted by Mayor Sala, will allow the creation of new businesses with the aim of offering innovative services for the restart of the city in the new phase".

Innovative start-ups and those with a social vocation will be able to access the funds as well as natural persons, single or in groups who, in the event of a positive evaluation, undertake to establish innovative start-ups within 90 days from the date of assignment of the contribution.

Support for start-ups takes the form of a non-repayable capital contribution, equal to a maximum of 40 thousand euros to cover the investment costs for starting the project, to which 10 thousand euros can be added for support services to be acquired from the certified business incubators present in Milan.
In the coming weeks, all the information and documentation necessary for submitting applications will be available on the Municipality of Milan portal.
