Stadium. The note from the Mayor Giuseppe Sala

Stadium. The note from the Mayor Giuseppe Sala

Milan, October 29 2021 – "This morning I met a Palazzo Marino the representatives of the clubs FC Internazionale and AC Milan. I represented the position of the Municipality of Milan to the teams.

There are three fundamental prerequisites to be able to move on to the executive phase of the stadium project.
The first is that the new stadium will essentially have to respect the lines and volumes contained in the feasibility study which has already been presented to the Administration.

The second point calls for a reconversion of the area of the current San Siro in order to develop the sports and entertainment district project, in a green context (also in this case as per the dossier already presented). Regardless of the timing of the construction of the new stadium, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in the current facility, as a tribute to its glorious history.

Finally, the third and final point, that the concessions of volumetric rights for urban developments ancillary to the stadium do not derogate from what is permitted by the current PGT.

The two companies have declared themselves in agreement with these proposals. At this point I believe that the council can proceed quickly to decide on the public interest."

Thus the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala at the end of the meeting which took place this morning in Palazzo Marino.
