Stadium in Milan. TO Palazzo Marino meeting with teams and Superintendent

Milan, May 12 2023 – It was held this morning at Palazzo Marino a meeting between the Municipality of Milan, the teams AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano with Superintendent Emanuela Carpani, for an update on the San Siro stadium.

The Municipality and the clubs have asked the Superintendent to verify the existence, positively or negatively, of the cultural interest requirements on the existing system, without waiting for 2025, the year in which the structure of the second ring will reach 70 years of life, thus making the obligation to verify cultural interest is triggered.

The urgency derives from the teams' need to be able to proceed with the construction of the new plant; for its part, the Municipality believes it should avoid the presence of two adjacent and functioning stadiums, as it does not consider this manageable due to the consequent impact on traffic, noise pollution and safety. And therefore for the lives of the families residing in the neighborhood.

Based on all this, everyone's hope is to have a definitive answer quickly.
