Milan, June 9 2023 – The Let's build the future Award is back in Milan, the charitable initiative created to support the work of small businesses that work every day in the area in the sporting and social fields, to encourage integration, inclusion and reduce the obstacles that people with disabilities can meet in everyday life, through the provision of contributions in the form of checks and the supply of materials and equipment.

Presenting the new announcement this morning at Palazzo Marino they were the councilor for Sport Martina Riva and the president of the Foundation Let's build the future Maurizio Lupi, together with the CEO of Dils Giuseppe Amitrano, the president of CSI Milano Massimo Achini and the director of the Foundation for the Milanese speakers Don Stefano Guidi .

Through this Award (the first edition of which was held in Merate in 2003 and was then gradually extended to other Lombardy areas), the Fondazione Costruiamo il futuro intends to create a bridge between companies that wish to make themselves useful by making funds available, such as Grimaldi Foundation, Intesa Sanpaolo and Dils, and the small local associations that usually struggle to enter the traditional solidarity circuits. So far, thanks to the support of sponsors, over 1,5 million euros have been distributed to 890 associations between Brianza, Milan, Bergamo, Sondrio and Valcamonica.

All amateur sports associations and third sector bodies that promote sports projects, with operational headquarters in the area of the Metropolitan City of Milan, can participate in the Award. To be awarded it is necessary to participate in the announcement published on the site www.costruiamoilfuturo.it: it will be possible to submit applications until 8 September 2023.

The projects will be selected by an Honorary Committee chaired by Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi, which will meet during the month of September. The final event is scheduled for October 21st at the Allianz MiCo Auditorium, during which the checks, from one thousand to 5.000 euros, and the vouchers for the purchase of sports equipment to the various associations will be delivered. Thanks to the support of the sponsors, a total of 214 associations were awarded in the previous six editions of Milan, with total contributions amounting to 431.000 euros.

"The world of associations is fundamental because it offers concrete answers to the needs of the territories – underlined the president of the Foundation Maurizio Lupi. To understand how much it really matters, it is enough to try to imagine what would happen if suddenly this small and at the same time enormous commitment is lacking. For this reason we want to lend a hand to an ever-increasing number of these everyday heroes, who deserve attention, respect and support. Last year in Milan 55 associations were awarded 100.000 euros. good result, but we want to do better: this year the goal is to reach 65 associations by making at least 120.000 euros available. We must always proceed on a path of growth."

"We are happy to be alongside the Let's build the future Award again this year – commented the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Milan Martina Riva –. Thanks to the economic and material contributions that will be assigned, many deserving entities in Milan and the surrounding area will succeed to improve the sports offer offered to boys and girls on a daily basis. The announcement that we are presenting today was born with the intention of contributing in a concrete way to the needs of the associations that promote the practice of sports in our neighborhoods, without losing sight of the values of inclusion and integration".

Some special awards are planned for this seventh Milanese edition: the Gloria Grimoldi special prize, created in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, which will be awarded during the October ceremony to an organization that has distinguished itself in the educational and training field, paying particular attention to combating inequalities; the special Donna Paola Grimaldi Award, in collaboration with the Grimaldi ONLUS Foundation, which instead aims to support non-profit associations or bodies that operate with particular attention to families; and finally the This is my Milano special awards, created in collaboration with Dils, which will serve to support interventions and actions for the enhancement, protection and recovery of the territory with a social value in the Milanese neighborhoods.

"We are pleased to renew the now historic partnership with the Foundation we build the future again this year – underlined the general director of the Grimaldi Foundation Luca Marciani –, to send a signal of solidarity towards small people and the suburbs, subsidiarity towards civil society, unity between all parts of Italy, in memory, which falls in these days, of the late woman Paola Grimaldi, our first president".

"We are proud to support the Let's build the future Award – commented Dils CEO Giuseppe Amitrano – and to express our gratitude to the smallest Milanese associations for the extraordinary activity they carry out. This initiative has numerous affinities with "This is my Milan" , the project to enhance the neighborhoods of Milan promoted by Dils through concrete support activities for the territory and authentic contents aimed at revealing lesser-known places and stories of the city".
