Milan, June 19 2019 – Having completed the redevelopment works on time, the Guido Romano swimming pool, the facility located in the Città studi area between via Ampère and via Ponzio, will reopen tomorrow. The works, essential for the proper functioning of the seaside resort, began on April 3st and involved the waterproofing of the pool, the arrangement and painting of the changing rooms and solarium and the renovation of the damaged parts of the surrounding wall. The interventions were carried out, as indicated by Municipality XNUMX, with the urbanization costs of an urban planning project on via Botticelli, respecting the historical and architectural value of the place.

“In perfect timing with the summer season, the Romano swimming pool returns to being a seaside center of excellence, without water loss and with a new look for the changing rooms and solarium - declare the councilors Roberta Guaineri (Sport) and Pierfrancesco Maran (Urban Planning) -. It doesn't end here: in autumn we will also dedicate ourselves to the redevelopment of the part of the facility dedicated to the little ones, the gardens of Via Zanoia".

It is a point of reference for the Città Studi district, whose redevelopment has always been a priority of Municipality 3 which has worked with all the means at its disposal to make this happen".

The Guido Romano swimming pool, located in via Ampère 20, was built in 1929 reflecting the architectural style of the time. Designed, as for the Cozzi swimming pool, by the architect Luigi Secchi, it is dedicated to Guido Romano, a well-known Italian gymnast. Inside the seaside resort you can in fact see the plaque dedicated to him by the Municipality of Milan and his family. The 4.000 square meter rectangular pool is located near a park which offers the service of a kiosk bar.

The Romano swimming pool adds to Milanosport's wide summer offer. From 1 June 2019 the Lido (Piazzale Lotto, 15) and Argelati (Via Segantini, 6) seaside centers are open. On June 9th the outdoor swimming pools of Sant'Abbondio (Via S. Abbondio, 12), Cardellino (Via del Cardellino, 3) and Saini (Via Corelli, 136) opened. The gardens of Arioli Venegoni, Iseo, Mincio, Murat, Procida, Solari, Suzzani and the terrace in the center of the Cozzi swimming pool remain available.
