Construction of a new swimming center in the area located in Milan at via del Cardellino n. 3

Milan, January 3 2023 - The process that will lead to the construction of the new Cardellino swimming pool begins. The Municipality of Milan has published the tender notice to identify the company that will carry out the works.
 
The project includes a main building with two floors above ground and one underground, for the technical rooms: the ground floor will house the access area, the pools and the changing rooms; on the first floor there will be the stands and refreshment services.  
There will be an Olympic swimming pool and an indoor training/diving pool, play-recreational pools for girls and boys and a building connecting the main body and the outdoor pools.  
A park will be created for outdoor activities (swimming pools, beach volleyball) and a tree-lined car park.  
The duration of the works is 24 months. 
The deadline for submitting proposals is January 31, 2023. 
  
For the construction of the new Olympic swimming center in via Cardellino 3, a total expense of 32 million euros is estimated, 11 of which will be covered with PNRR funds. 
The intervention, in fact, was admitted to the funding provided for in the "Sport and Inclusion" tenders published by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in March 2022. 
The remaining part of the expense will be covered by municipal resources. 
  
The contract will be awarded on the basis of the criterion of the most economically advantageous offer. Among the criteria for evaluating the offers, priority is given to equal opportunities: additional scores will be awarded to companies that demonstrate particular attention to the issue of disability and have the figure of a 'disability manager' on their staff. 
In terms of corporate welfare and organizational well-being, another priority criterion envisaged in the announcement, companies will be asked to present an illustrative report at the time of registration, with the commitment to ensure each measure described also to workers hired after the start of the works foreseen by the contract or in the event of an increase in activity. 
Finally, as provided for by the PNRR guidelines, in the event of the contract being awarded, it is a necessary condition, under penalty of exclusion, that the hiring made for the execution of the work and related activities ensure a quota equal to 30% of employment female and 30% youth employment. 
 
The swimming facility in the Lorenteggio district is included in the Three-Year Public Works Program 2022/2024 after the council had approved the technical and economic feasibility project in recent weeks.  
  
Compliance with the tender publication deadlines by 31 December 2022, as happened, will allow obtaining 20% ​​more resources, in addition to what was attributed with the decree of admission to the PNRR financing.
