Milan, September 22 2021 – During the months of closure imposed in the current year by the anti-Covid regulations, Milanosport carried out many ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions, which involved all the centres. Among the most impressive interventions is certainly the complete redevelopment of the Suzzani swimming pool, the large facility in the Niguarda area surrounded by the greenery of Milan's North Park, which includes two 12 and 25 meter pools, a fitness room with cardio and isotonic machines, an area for training and fitness courses. The Suzzani center was inaugurated this morning in the presence of representatives of the municipal administration.

This important modernization intervention worth approximately 800 thousand euros, made possible by the investments of the Municipality of Milan and carried out under the direction of MM SpA, involved, in approximately 150 days of work, the reconstruction of the roof covering layers and the construction of the new floor and basin of the pool; furthermore, the changing rooms and toilets section was completely renovated with the installation of modern hairdryers, a technology that is now indispensable in gyms and sports areas: these are more modern and long-lasting machines which, avoiding their continuous replacement, generate less waste in the environment and which will allow quick drying without queues.

The spaces of the fitness gym have been adapted with new machines available to users and the public reception spaces have been reorganised, with a new reception which will guarantee greater usability and visibility of the pool.

The new look of the swimming pool is framed by external works, such as the redevelopment of the roof and the painting of the facade and roof. To complete everything in 2022, the complete renovation of the green areas is expected.

In designing the redevelopment intervention, great attention was paid to sustainability, pursued by renewing the LED lighting systems and with the new insulation of the roof which also improves the thermal performance of the entire building, and to accessibility and inclusiveness , with a mechanical arm to allow safe and controlled access to the pool, the creation of a ramp that guarantees full accessibility to the solarium and a stairlift to access the gym on the first floor.

Milanosport's course proposal for the 2021/22 season in the Suzzani pool features, as always, a rich offer of water activities for children and families: the presence of the 12 m pool allows courses to be held for little ones from 6 months onwards pre-school age and aquafitness/hydrobike and aquacircuit courses in a dedicated environment.

Synchronized swimming courses for girls and swimming courses are back with a proposal also for young adults aged 16 to 25. Masters under 25 and of course the possibility of practicing free swimming either by purchasing a single entry or by purchasing a subscription, which varies from monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annually, and is valid in all swimming pools managed by Milanosport, allowing you to train even when you are in another area of ​​the city.

The cardio/fitness room with its new equipment will offer various subscriptions to meet the needs of athletes, it will therefore be possible to choose the time slot in which to train and purchase the dedicated subscription, booking is always necessary on the website www.milanosport.it which will guarantee respect for capacities and safety in the activity areas.
