Milan, September 17 2020 - One and a half million euros to support sport and city sports associations or clubs.
The call to access the contributions allocated by the City Council, through the Mutual Aid Fund, is online to help non-profit sports organizations that operate in the Milan area or manage public sports facilities under concession, penalized in recent months by the imposed closures from the health emergency.
Precisely, this is an allocation of 1,47 million euros divided into two parts: the first, in favor of the concessionaires of sports facilities owned by the Municipality, makes contributions available for a total of 780.000 euros to support the expenses for the overall management of the facilities. Each company will be able to request it for a maximum of 7.000 euros.
The other part is intended to support non-profit associations, bodies and sports clubs in general that carry out continuous activities in the area, and amounts to 580.000 euros. It can be requested for contributions of a maximum of 5.000 euros.
The announcement then implements another indication from the City Council which intended to reward summer schools and projects for the inclusion of disabled people in basic and competitive sporting activities.
The notice, which will remain open until 30 November 2020, is in line with the Administration's decision to cover the concession fees for municipal sports facilities, from March to the end of June, thanks to the further use of the resources of the Mortgage Fund relief amounting to 170.000 euros.
Extension of concessions
Measures decided in favor of those who operate on a non-profit basis and are engaged in activities of high social and educational value, and shared with the Milan Concessionaires Committee with which the Municipality's sports department collaborated to develop the operational instructions and provide all associations and sports clubs that manage municipal facilities with a simplified and rapid procedure to obtain the extension of the concession.
A collaboration that guarantees and strengthens the full usability of municipal systems, recognizing the high social value of the concessionaires.
