Sport. The project for the new sports center in via Cekhov has been approved
Milan, July 13 2021 – Volleyball, basketball, artistic gymnastics are some of the sports that can be practiced in the new sports center which will be built in the municipally owned area between Betti, Cechov and Omodeo streets.
The Administration has declared the proposal for the construction of a new sports facility presented by an RTI made up of private individuals to be feasible and in the public interest.
The project, with an estimated amount of 6,1 million euros, has as its object the activation of a public-private partnership with a contribution from the Municipality of 2,7 million euros and contextual management of the service for a period of 31,5, XNUMX years.
“The one in via Cechov will be a multifunctional sports facility – declares Roberta Guaineri, councilor for Sport –, serving the community in an area of the city that has expressed the need for new sports spaces. An inclusive and precious center for physical well-being, which will offer specific activities for all age groups, collaborations with primary and secondary schools and with sports science faculties, a youth summer campus and cultural, social and leisure events ”.
The new sports facility will be developed almost entirely on a single floor above ground, covering an area of approximately 5.493 mXNUMX. The structure will be sized to allow mainly but not only the practice of technical-competitive activities, with the addition of two multipurpose rooms for various physical activities. The building will be mainly composed of two parts, the East body and the West body, both equipped with a gym, multipurpose room and men's and women's changing rooms, joined by a central body with common functions. The connecting volume will be used as a refreshment space and office space - developed on two floors - for the sports club in charge of management. The two parts will be further connected by an external warehouse, the position of which will create a small “private garden” patio in the center of the facility.
The expected duration of the works is one and a half years and the annual fee paid to the Municipality is 3 thousand euros.
The assignment will take place through a public procedure, with pre-emption in favor of the promoter. The award criterion will be that of the most economically advantageous offer.
