Sport. The call for the "Let's build the future" award has been opened: a contribution for 50 sports associations

Councilor Riva: "This initiative supports many organizations that promote sport as a means of inclusion and a lever for personal and community growth"     Milan, 1 July 2022 - It was presented today, at Palazzo Marino, the sixth edition of the Let's Build the Future Milan Metropolitan City Award, created to concretely support the commitment and projects of the sports associations of Milan and its province that work with children and young people, generating positive environments in which to educate through sport. Support for small third sector entities that respond free of charge to the needs they encounter every day, generating value for the community and for the entire territory: this has always been the meaning of the Let's Build the Future Award, an initiative born in 2003 in Brianza (where this year the twentieth edition will be celebrated) and which in 2022 will take place in four editions, Milan Metropolitan City, Bergamo and province, Valtellina and Valchiavenna and province of Lecco and Monza and Brianza, an evolution that confirms the effectiveness and the usefulness of these concrete interventions on the territory.    The meeting was attended by the councilor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies Martina Riva, the President of the Fondazione Costruiamo il Futuro, the Honorable Maurizio Lupi, the President of Coni Lombardia Marco Riva, the President of CSI Milano Massimo Achini and Renato Cerioli of the Let's Build the Future Foundation.    In 2021, the Costruiamo il Futuro Foundation received 744 requests for contributions, almost double compared to previous years, and it was possible to donate 158 euros to 245.000 associations active in the social and sporting fields, to which must be added 4.500 euros, provided in the form of vouchers for supplies of technical sports material. Since 2003, 650 associations have been supported, 1.250.000 euros donated for the projects, and over 2.700 associations met.    The Award provides small cash contributions from one thousand to 5 thousand euros for third sector entities. For the Honorable Maurizio Lupi, President of the Costruiamo il Futuro Foundation, "the great interest encountered by the Award pushes us to continue along the path undertaken, certain that widespread support for associative realities can truly be the origin of a renewed culture of solidarity, increasingly necessary in particular for children and young people living in peripheral areas. This year too our goal is to actively support the work of 50 associations by donating 100.000 euros, thanks to the collaboration and support of our partners who allow us both to identify the real needs of the territory and to offer an attempt to respond" .    "I thank the Let's build the future Foundation for concretely supporting the sports associations of Milan and the surrounding area - commented councilor Martina Riva -. Sport is a lever for strong personal and community growth, which must be nurtured from an early age. To practice it you need structures and equipment that not all organizations that promote the practice of sports in the city's neighborhoods can afford. The tender we are presenting today responds to this need and to that of contributing to training a generation of proactive, active young people, attentive to those in greatest need, aware that sport is also a means of integration and inclusion".    The sixth edition will see the collaboration of the UMANA MENTE Foundation, which will support 5 awards dedicated to associations that use sport as a tool for the integration of disabilities.      “I am particularly pleased to be able to announce the support of the Allianz UMANA MENTE Foundation for the sixth edition of the Let's Build the Future Award – says Maurizio Devescovi, President of the Allianz UMANA MENTE Foundation and General Director of Allianz SpA –. Our Foundation launched interventions and projects years ago with the aim of encouraging, through sports, the full participation of people with disabilities and the most vulnerable. For this reason, our support for the Award and all the non-profit organizations that will participate intends to once again underline the important role that sport plays in the affirmation of an increasingly inclusive and supportive society, capable of overcoming limits and barriers”.     As has already happened in past years, a special prize named after Gloria Grimoldi will be awarded, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, to a company that operates directly in the field of education. Stefano Lucchini, Chief Institutional Affairs and External Communication Officer Intesa Sanpaolo, commented: “The Gloria Grimoldi Special Award, which remembers an extraordinary colleague attentive to social issues, testifies to Intesa Sanpaolo's contribution to inclusion and education and its commitment to giving young people attention, trust and skills".      Participation in the prize dedicated to Milan Metropolitan City is very simple: sports associations will be able to request help for their activity by registering by 10 September 2022 to the call published on the website Premio.costruiamoilfuturo.it.  The Foundation's secretariat will arrange a meeting to fully understand and understand the initiatives and work of the candidate associations. The requests collected will be judged and selected by the Honorary Committee, chaired by Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi, made up of the project partners, personalities from the cultural world and the third sector and representatives of the Costruiamo il Futuro Foundation, including Germana Chiodi, councilor of the Foundation and delegate responsible for Charity activities.    The Let's Build the Future Metropolitan City of Milan Award enjoys the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, the Metropolitan City of Milan, CONI Regional Committee of Lombardy.     It is created in collaboration with: Grimaldi Foundation, Allianz UMANA MENTE Foundation, FOM - Fondazione Oratori Milanesi, CSI Comune Di Milano, Lombardy Pharmaceutical Chemistry Association of Pharmacy Owners, Cdo Milano, Corriere Buone Notizie.   And with the support of: Intesa Sanpaolo, iZilove Foundation, FS Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, PwC, Sangalli SPA, Edenred Italia, E-work SpA, Ricoh Italia, Safety21, Bellosta, Inrete, Streetvox, DF-SportSpecialist.
