Milan, January 18 2022 - The Councilor for Security Marco Granelli organized an inspection today to define the methods of securing the uncompleted building in via Ucelli di Nemi in Ponte Lambro. Also present were Stefano Bianco and Marina Melloni, respectively president and councilor for security of Municipality 4, the operators of the Municipality of the departments of Security, Housing and the Environment, Amsa and MM, the local police and the public security commissioner 'Mecenate '.

The building is the subject of numerous reports from residents of the neighborhood for illegal occupations and abandonment of waste and for this reason it has been decided that in the next few weeks a clearance, cleaning and rodent control intervention will be carried out to stop the hygienic-sanitary deterioration of the building. area and safety issues. The structure will also be made safe with masonry works, given that the current barriers do not provide a sufficient deterrent to unauthorized access.

"The safety and cleaning of the building area - declares Marco Granelli, Councilor for Security - as well as restoring protection and dignity to the Ponte Lambro neighbourhood, will allow us to proceed as defined by the Administration with the redevelopment and completion of the works, finally giving to the city the university residence that was already in Renzo Piano's original project".

The complex in via Ucelli di Nemi 23, 24, 25 and 26 is made up of two buildings with six floors above ground and is part of an urban regeneration process followed by the housing and neighborhood planning councilor Pierfrancesco Maran who, after years of non-use forced, involves the completion of the works and the creation of a university residence serving the Milanese universities, laboratories for activities aimed at the world of business, start-ups and job placement, as well as activities for guests and for all neighborhood of cultural, social and sporting character.
In fact, last September the technical and economic feasibility project was approved for the purpose of including the structure in the Three-Year Public Works Program and the Municipality will be able to entrust the property under concession for a period of 30 years, through a public tender which will be published in spring with work expected to begin by the end of 2022.
