Safety. Hobby markets in the Viale Puglie area have been suspended with two contingent and urgent ordinances

Milan, October 17 2020 - Countering illegality, illegal activity and gatherings that make an orderly influx and the distancing necessary to respect the anti-Covid regulations impossible: this is the objective of the contingent and urgent ordinances signed by the mayor Giuseppe Sala which suspend the two markets that every on Sunday they crowd the area between viale Puglie, via Tertulliano and piazzale Cuoco.
The two ordinances were notified today to the two owners of the land and impose the suspension of the two hobby markets for a month.

The documents trace the activity to combat illegality carried out by the Local Police in agreement with the other law enforcement agencies and give an account of the numerous illegal sellers who display goods on the ground without respecting the hygiene and health regulations in via Tertulliano and of exhibitors carrying out professional sales activities, which are not permitted in hobby markets. In addition to the danger, when the police intervene, for public safety as hundreds of people flee in a disorderly manner, sometimes climbing over the fence of the railway bed.
Added to this are the gatherings that constitute a concrete and current danger and risk of contagion from Covid-19 and other behaviors that violate various rules of the municipal Urban Police regulation and the Hygiene regulation.

“For years the Local Police has been intervening - explains the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo - in coordination with the other law enforcement agencies, to combat illegality in these markets. Several dozen officers employed every week to restore order in a crowded space where illegal activity and behavior that does not comply with anti-Covid regulations proliferate. With great repercussions also on public roads. These ordinances aim to restore legality throughout that area and a safe environment for the citizens who live in the surrounding streets."
