Safety. The suspension of hobby markets in the Viale Puglie area has been extended to January 31st

Milan, November 28 2020 - Two contingent and urgent ordinances were signed today to extend until January 31st the suspension of the two markets that were held every Sunday in the area between Viale Puglie, Via Tertulliano and Piazzale Cuoco.

The ordinances follow those issued last October 17, of which they maintain the same objectives: to prevent and combat serious dangers to hygiene and public health and the phenomena of serious neglect and degradation of the territory and damage to urban liveability.

During the activities to combat illegality carried out by the Local Police in agreement with the Police Force, it has been ascertained several times that within the areas where the markets are held some exhibitors carry out professional sales activities and not free trade , without the market manager adopting suitable behavior to combat this illegal phenomenon.

Furthermore, on the occasion of the two markets, Via Tertulliano is affected for its entire extension by an intense and disorderly presence of numerous illegal sellers, who display their goods on the ground on sheets for the purpose of selling without any respect for health and hygiene regulations. . A situation which also generates serious neglect and degradation, since at the sight of the police the sellers abandon large quantities of various types of goods throughout the surrounding area, to remove and dispose of which the intervention of the Amsa must be requested .

Last but not least is the problem of gatherings that are constantly generated and which constitute a real danger to public health. As proof of the fact that these gatherings only occur on the Sundays when the two markets take place, during the inspections carried out by the Local Police on Sundays 8, 15 and 22 November 2020 (days on which the markets did not take place), neither were found nor gatherings nor the massive presence of illegal vendors.
