The Local Police carried out eight orders issued by the Prefecture of Milan

Milan, July 7 2019 – A nightclub and seven neighborhood businesses have recently received a temporary closure order from the Local Police issued by the Prefecture of Milan for having sold alcohol outside the hours permitted by law.

In fact, according to the regulations, the sale and administration of alcohol and spirits is prohibited for public establishments from 3 to 6 in the morning, while for neighborhood establishments the sale of alcohol is not permitted from midnight to 24 in the morning.

The sanctions were triggered after a cycle of checks carried out by the Annonaria of the Local Police, under the direction of commander Marco Ciacci, during which the agents monitored the activity of the managers of the premises and shops and verified failure to comply with the rules .

In the first six months of 2019, these checks led to the raising of 33 administrative fines of 6.666 euros, mainly to neighborhood businesses that had not respected the rules on alcohol sales times.
One of these fines was raised for giving alcoholic beverages to minors.

When a business owner is notified of two separate violations within a two-year period, the Prefecture prepares a seven-day closure order, which increases to fifteen if the violation has been committed three times in two years. This ordinance is notified to the owner by the Local Police, who seals the premises.

The seven-day closure order was notified to the Time Club disco in via Massarani and to the minimarkets in via Zuretti 2, viale Monte Ceneri 11, via Padova 34 and via dei Transiti 1, while for the neighborhood businesses in piazza Firenze 4 , via Padova 64 and via Romilli 14 have been closed for 15 days.

“We collect the reports that come to us from citizens and municipalities – explained the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo – who complain about incorrect and illicit behavior on the part of shopkeepers, especially in the evening and at night. The collaboration with the Prefecture is constant and the objectives of combating illegality which often also generates degradation, and of defending honest merchants who respect the rules are shared".
