Security in neighborhoods. Legality restored in via Quarti and areas returned to agriculture

A joint operation by the local police, urban planning and green areas was concluded in recent days to free an area occupied without title for about twenty years in the Cave Park

Milan, February 26 2020 – Restore the legality of the land and return it to agriculture, connecting it to the Cave Park, as envisaged in the Territorial Government Plan. With these objectives, the clearing work of the occupants and animals present in the area of approximately one thousand square meters, partly municipal property and partly private, adjacent to the ancient Fontanile bed still present north of via Quarti.

For about twenty years the area had been occupied without title by an Italian family, made up of a father and two sons, and used largely as a stable for animals (horses, ponies, donkeys and goats); Furthermore, in the private part, over the years, improper degrading activities had taken place, such as the irregular disposal of waste, which the Fire Brigade had also intervened in.

Thanks to the action carried out by the Decentralized Command 7 of the local police, on the day of the official intervention the area was found already clear of the occupants and of most of the artefacts, which the family itself took steps to dismantle, while the animals have been entrusted to other people.

The redevelopment of the area, worth around 30 thousand euros, was started by the Urban Planning offices in January and saw the demolition of the barracks still present and the disposal of waste materials at authorized centres.

The area is now finally an integral part of the Cave Park and has been sown as grass by farmers already operating in the neighboring plots.
