Sharing. The new BikeMi e-bikes protagonists at e-mob were presented

Milan, September 26 2019 - Electric mobility as a vehicle for environmental sustainability: buses, trolleybuses and bicycles at the center of the electric revolution on display in Milan. Presented today as a preview at e_mob, the electric mobility festival, the new ebikes from BikeMi, the bike sharing service created by Clear channel and managed by ATM.

"BikeMi is a consolidated service - declares Marco Granelli, councilor for Mobility - and precisely because it works well it is necessary to renew it. These electric bicycles will give new impetus and fit perfectly into the increasingly broad offer of shared mobility".

"We are very proud to participate in an event like e_mob - says Eszter Sallai, CFO of Clear channel - because in addition to celebrating electric mobility, it gives us the opportunity to confirm the consolidated relationship with ATM and the Municipality of Milan and affirm how the profitable collaboration between institutions and companies, leads to a benefit for the community. Clear channel has been managing bike sharing systems both in Europe and overseas for more than twenty years. Among all, BikeMi stands out for being a cutting-edge service. The bike we are presenting today is technologically advanced and highly performing. It is also thanks to the introduction of these new ebikes that the service is even more efficient."

There will be 700 latest generation bicycles that will enter into circulation by the end of October and over the next three months the replacement of the entire electric fleet will be completed for a total of 1.150 electric bicycles.

The new pedal-assisted bicycles will be more efficient and easy to handle, with a battery with more than 100 km of autonomy and a total weight of less than 25 kg. An innovative connection system manages the motor power, optimizes pedaling, communicates in real time location, remaining charge and any problems for a better travel experience.
The BikeMi fleet already numbers 5.430 bicycles (4.280 traditional bikes and 1.150 pedal-assisted ones, of which 150 with child seats for the little ones) and 303 collection points scattered around the city.

The commitment of the Municipality of Milan, ATM and Clear channel is becoming increasingly concrete in promoting sustainable and integrated mobility which sees the use of the bicycle as the most used means of traveling the "last mile" of the home-work journey. school, together with public transport.

The red bicycles, an integral part of the city panorama, have traveled 4,7 million km since their debut, leading to an overall saving of 965 tons of CO2.
