Tajani: “An important opportunity for personal and professional growth. For the city, a precious tool to help the weakest groups and a contribution to social development"

Milan, September 7 2019 – The deadlines for the submission of applications by boys and girls, between 10 and 18 years old, who want to commit themselves to the city by choosing to carry out national civil service with the Municipality of Milan are open until 28 October. In fact, there are 110 opportunities offered by the municipal administration to make itself available to the community and culture: one place in the Environment sector, 19 in Assistance for actions and minors, 56 in the Education and Cultural Promotion sectors, 32 in support of artistic heritage, while 2 will be included within the Civil Protection.

“The voluntary Civil Service – comments Cristina Tajani, councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities, Commerce and Human Resources – represents an important opportunity for educational and human growth for volunteers. For the Administration it is a precious tool that contributes to helping the weakest sections of society, strengthening services to citizens and enhancing the urban heritage. The activities that will involve the volunteers - concludes Tajani - are based on concrete projects that make it possible to strike a balance between the training needs of the volunteers and the needs of the city: from the valorisation of the artistic heritage to cultural integration, through attention to environment and assistance to the elderly and minors in difficulty".

Last year, over 390 applications for participation were received by the municipal offices from young Milanese people who asked to engage in the projects proposed by the Administration.

Young people who will be called to carry out the national civil service (SCN) will be able to count on an expense reimbursement (service allowance) of approximately 439 euros per month. Emolument that will be paid directly by the National Civil Service Office (UNSC).
