Pisacane-Poerio School. Fire involves secretariat area, no damage to classrooms

Limonta: "Already working to ensure the return to school of boys and girls"

Milan, 29 December 2020 – Following the fire that involved some spaces of the Pisacane-Poerio Comprehensive Institute, an initial inspection was carried out this morning by the school building councilor Paolo Limonta, the municipal technicians and MM, together with the principal, to check the status of the places.

No classroom or teaching space was affected by the fire. Two secretarial offices and a part of the adjacent corridor were seriously compromised. Fortunately, the area can easily be isolated.

Starting from this afternoon and in the next few days, all static checks will be carried out in the areas affected by the fire to understand the extent of the damage. And contacts have already been made to clean all the classrooms not affected by the fire, but which have been invaded by smoke and soot. It will take a few days to understand when it will be possible to return to school safely.

“The fire is a bad blow for the school – explains councilor Limonta – but it can count on the support of the municipal administration which took immediate action, as well as that of the head teacher and the teachers who were already at school today to give their contribution to the arrangement of the spaces. The primary objective is obviously to guarantee the return of girls and boys as quickly as possible."
