Milan, October 7 2020 – The Municipality invests in safety, training and technical skills to support the change in the city and in the quantitative and qualitative standards of the services offered to citizens after the Covid emergency. Yesterday, the employment plan for the two-year period 2020÷22 was signed in agreement with the representatives of the trade unions. A plan that fully responds to the needs of the Administration and is capable of covering the various organizational needs of the municipal machine by responding effectively and promptly to the needs, exacerbated by the management of the pandemic, of citizens, families and businesses.

“Thanks to the positive discussion between the Administration and the trade union representatives, we managed to close an important agreement which will allow the municipal machine to respond efficiently to the needs of citizens and businesses within a framework of new economic and social normality dictated by the evolving of the health situation – says the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Human Resources Cristina Tajani –. These new 1.074 hires are added to the 2.200 already made by the Sala Council over the course of these 4 years. A result that reflects the collaborative climate that has been established with the trade union representatives."

Specifically, the 2020-2022 employment plan provides for 1.074 new hires with a focus on the implementation of educational, school and security services. In fact, there will be 112 new teachers and 98 new entries into the local police force. Personal services will be able to count on 34 new resources allocated to social welfare services called today to make an extraordinary effort for the Covid emergency. 60 new hires are destined for the world of Milanese culture to support the library and museum system. The maneuver is completed by the 526 hirings in administrative profiles, 15 in IT profiles and 229 in technical profiles to implement the needs of operation, digitalisation and implementation of the public works program planned for the next two years.
