Human resources. From September to today 510 new hires to improve the Municipality's services

More educators, teachers and police officers. Tajani: "We invest in human resources to better respond to citizens' needs and make the municipal machine faster and more efficient" 


Milan, January 3 2021 - The plan for the renewal and implementation of the staff of the Municipality of Milan, desired by the Council, continues to guarantee the city more efficient services and staff with increasingly up-to-date skills. From September to today, 510 new hires have taken place, of which 109 in September alone, relating to new teachers for nursery schools and nursery schools to guarantee the largest possible staff when the structures reopen. New staff also for the language training sector and for city security.


"We have chosen to continue investing in people and their skills - comments the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Human Resources Cristina Tajani - because they represent the greatest resource that the Public Administration can equip itself with. Our plan employment, in addition to improving and increasing the services offered to citizens, represents a concrete contribution to maintaining employment in the city, in this complex moment". 


Of the 510 new hires, 149 involved administrative employees to strengthen the front and back offices of all departments, also useful for streamlining and speeding up dialogue with citizens. On the other hand, there are 109 new educators who will join the staff of nursery schools and nursery schools in order to guarantee, even during the Covid-19 emergency period, the high quality standards of a service that is among the most important for Milanese families. Training dedicated to young people and adults was also implemented with the inclusion of 13 new language teachers including Spanish, Chinese, English and Russian in order to continue the long tradition of excellence offered by civic schools. There is also space for technical skills with the inclusion of 33 new surveyors in the various directions of the Administration, from urban planning to mobility, as well as 56 workers including plumbers, painters, blacksmiths, carpenters to guarantee the timeliness and quality of maintenance interventions on schools , public buildings, green areas, facilities, public spaces and funeral services.


The constant attention for the most fragile subjects cannot be missing thanks to the inclusion of a further 15 resources active in social welfare services. To guarantee the safety of the people of Milan and the city area, 101 new Local Police officers (94 agents and 7 officers) have also been added.   


The new additions are part of the broader employment plan outlined by the Council for the two-year period 2020-2022 which provides for a total of 1.074 new hires with a focus on the implementation of educational, school, social welfare and security services. Numbers that add to the over 2.200 hirings that took place in the last 4 years of the mandate in order to guarantee, in addition to the natural turnover of staff, also an increasingly efficient municipal machine and services in tune with the social and economic development of the city, its inhabitants and the territory.
