Urban regeneration. Bicocca district, a new and sustainable face

Milan, June 25 2022 - Improvement and redefinition in a sustainable way of the areas of the University of Milan-Bicocca, whether public or even subject to public use. This is the content of the Memorandum of Understanding for the regeneration of the Bicocca area, the guidelines of which the Council has just approved and which will be detailed and signed shortly.  

The objectives range from the implementation of the green system to that of soft mobility, from the redefinition of the use of open spaces to the production of renewable energy, and are included in the project which, based on the PNRR, was presented last February by the University of Milan-Bicocca in partnership with other entities, whose aims converge with those of the Municipality of Milan in the direction of improving the environmental quality of all city districts.  

The territorial area affected by the Protocol concerns a total surface area of ​​approximately 700 thousand mXNUMX, and the interventions that are intended to be developed range from the energy efficiency of some university buildings, also through the production of renewable energy, to the inclusion of green areas, from the redefinition the use of open spaces to improve accessibility, also with the strengthening of soft mobility, to the implementation of cultural activities in the district. The Protocol will have the task of building the shared path for the implementation of the plan, articulating in detail the projects that are intended to be implemented.
